Lawyer for child A lawyer appointed by the court to represent a child involved in, or affected by, proceedings, particularly in the Family Court. Leave (of the court) Permission given by the court to do something in a proceeding where such permission is required.


Legal aid Financial assistance at public expense to enable a person of insufficient means to be represented by a lawyer and enable them to bring or defend court proceedings.

List Court A sitting in which different applications/cases are sequentially called from a list before a judge, an associate judge or a deputy registrar for the purposes of case management.
